Heather graduated with a degree in Fashion from NCAD in 2002. Specialising in knitwear, she turned her focus to rich colour ways and intense pattern. Using natural yarns in cashmere, fine merino lambswool and silk to create modern, easy to wear silhouettes.

After Eastern travels she worked in Lainey Keogh's knit room, and then as a fashion accessories buyer for LUVIT in Galway.

Heather's business began as a stall in Cow's Lane Market, from which she was selected by Topshop to design a range for it's new Irish flagship store in St. Stephen's Green.

Her new knitwear range is now available in boutiques across Ireland as well as selected outlets in Great Britain and The United States.

All the work is made in Ireland by Heather in her studio in the North Strand in Dublin....(see more)


AIDEEN BODKIN

The range is designed for women who love colour, texture and want an individual look without being slaves to passing trends. Aideen's collectable garments have become modern classics in many women's wardrobes.

Since the brand was established in 1999 Aideen has continued to produce beautifully crafted garments in special fabrics of the highest quality.
Aideen has built the range over the past 9 years to become one of the leading Irish Designers and is now concentrating on bringing her unique style to other markets.

"My garments are designed to make the women who wear them feel special. Many women have remarked to me that they always receive compliments when wearing clothes from my range. AOIFE O'LEARY

http://galwayfashionweek.com/images/designers3.JPG After studying art, design, textiles and fashion Aoife O'Leary went on to study at the Grafton Academy in Dublin, where following graduation she went back to teach part time for a number of months. She has worked extensively in the fashion industry for over ten years with significant experience gained working with John Rocha, Antonia Campbell-Hughes, Kathy de Stafford and Carol Smith Millinery.

Having worked for a period in retail with the A Wear chain, Aoife decided to go to a high end, special occasion ladies boutique initially as a sales assistant and worked her way up to manager of the business. Aoife has designed the boutique's in-house collection which received great press coverage and attention. Aoife was also the assistant buyer for the boutique and traveled to trade shows in Paris and London working closely with agents and wholesalers. This experience has given Aoife a great all round overview of the industry and she intends to open her own boutique in the future.

Three and a half years ago Aoife set up her own design company, operating out of a city centre studio. Her contacts from her time spent in the retailing side of the business have served her well and many loyal customers have followed her and continue to order from her collections today. Aoife has featured in two separate full page editorials in the Sunday Independent over recent years as well as in many bridal magazines, Social and Personal, and 'Irish Tatler' The Examiner, Style on Sunday and Irish Entrepreneur.  Her creations have also featured on the cover of Irish Beauty in 2006. In addition her clothes have received television coverage and costumes she has designed were featured in films at the Cannes film festival in both 2005 and 2006.


She also does a small evening wear collection called 'Vanilla' as well as a children's wear collection of communion dresses called 'Laoise Lu'.. ..(see more)


JENNIFER ROTHWELL

Jennifer Rothwell was born in New York, and raised in Dublin. Jennifer graduated with honours from the National College of Art and Design in 1995. While at NCAD she won many prestigious awards, which included the 'Irish Trade Board Award' and was a finalist in the Satzenbrau and Smirnoff awards, where her clothes were highly commended and later featured on the Late Late Show. Her end of year degree collection was highly acclaimed so much so that it was chosen as the finale collection for the end of year NCAD Degree show.

While in college she travelled to New York every summer to work in the NYC fashion industry. In 1995, after graduation Jennifer emigrated to New York fulltime where she acquired extensive NYC fashion experience. Jennifer Rothwell is highly experienced in the fashion field with over 12 years fashion design/production experience. Jennifer Rothwell knows the A to Z of the fashion industry as she gained vast experience as the director of Design and Production for many high profile NY companies.  Jennifer accredits her most valuable experience at Norma Kamali where she worked for over 4 years, firstly in sales; after one month she was promoted to assistant PR, then to PR executive. She was later put in charge of Licensing, Design and finally as Director of Production. She later went on to work and gain further fashion experience with Katayone Adeli, Calvin Klein, Language and Yigal Azrouel and worked at Director level in all companies mentioned. Jennifer Rothwell has gained a renowned reputation in the New York fashion industry over the years so much so that other high profile companies like Rogan NYC ( also co creator of EDUN with Bono and Ali Hewson) and Darlyn K have all tried to recruit her. Because of the experience of working with several companies in all aspects she understands how to run a fashion business from Design Development, Initial Sales Samples, PR, right through to the final Production stage. Jennifer Rothwell is a Multi-dimensional creative fashion designer and business minded executive. 

Jennifer Rothwell's garments are made of innovative designs, luxurious fabrics paired with high quality garment finishing. Her manufacturing contacts also work with the crème de la crème of the international fashion industry. They include Oscar De La Renta, Calvin Klein Collection, Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs to name but a few. Jennifer says of her own work: 'Once you have worked for the Couture end of the industry where great design and top quality finished garments are produced and the norm you in turn expect nothing less of your own collection. I am a perfectionist and I want my garments to look great inside and out'. Jennifer designs for the sophisticated woman, that doesn't follow trends necessarily. Her ideal customer is a woman who knows what she wants, appreciates high quality and buys her garments as investment buys, timeless fashion that will always look great year after year! She is inspired by luxurious fabrics, her own sense of colour, great design and fit. She prides herself with attention to detail paired with beautiful fabrics and trimmings. Jennifer's fabric choices include Silks Charmeuse, Silk Chiffon, French Laces, Matt Jersey and beautiful Braided Trimmings. She sources all her fabrics/trims mainly from New York and was also inspired for her new collection from a recent visit to Thailand....(see more)
